I love living in the Seattle area.

I hate to say that too loud because if you live here, you’re supposed to complain loudly enough about the rain and traffic that all the potential transplants can hear you, and maybe then they’ll reconsider moving here.

Honestly though, its awesome here. Seattle is a great city, and its managed to maintain tons of green spaces and parks, despite an insane amount of growth over the last decade. The city itself has over 485 parks! One of my favorite parks to visit is Discovery Park, its the largest one, coming in at 534 acres! Its amazing because its about fifteen minutes from downtown Seattle, but it feels like you’re somewhere super remote. Its got forests, a coastline, and even a lighthouse!

A couple weeks ago, my sister and I decided to spend the day at Discovery Park, we were really hoping for some better weather to hike and shoot in. However, its winter in Seattle, which means that on any given day its probably raining. I (of course) forgot my rain shell, and ended up having to borrow one from my brother-in-law. So this look is brought to you by my unpreparedness, and  optimism for a sunny day!

I actually love how these pictures turned out, despite being totally unprepared for the weather. I feel like they really represent Seattle life! Sometimes the weather (and life for that matter) doesn’t cooperate, but you can always make the best of it, throw on a rain coat, and just keep going!

  1. Firstly the photography here is amazing and I love the mood you’ve created in these shots! I’ve never really explored the States properly but would love to spend some time over there – including Seattle!!

  2. I visited Seattle in the summer a few years ago! Loved every minute of it. Discovery park was beautiful and of course we visited the fish market And Starbucks, had too!! 😊😊

  3. My favorite YouTuber is from Seattle and she’s constantly raving about it. I think I’d absolutely combust from missing sunshine haha BUT I definitely want to visit at some point. These photos are absolutely divine, by the way. So romantically moody. Love them!
