Confession time; I am not really a fan of pumpkin spice. I don’t understand the hype, and as a former barista, it actually just annoys me when I start to see people posting about Starbucks carrying them in August (ITS AUGUST PEOPLE, ITS STILL SUMMER!!) Pumpkin pie doesn’t really even do it for me. I am just not a fan of the pumpkin craze. I am also the kind of person that if I am not a fan of a trend, then I am adamantly against it. So, as a former barista who dreaded the release of seasonal drinks, and already wasn’t a fan of pumpkin spice, I drew my line in the sand, and I tend to get on my high horse every time it gets brought up.

However, over the last few years I’ve tried to get better about being high and mighty when it comes to things that I don’t like, or don’t get. I found the most delicious pumpkin beer ever (its actually my favorite beer, I toasted with it at my wedding), I am in love with pumpkin colored things, and I even learned that there is one coffee shop that carries a pumpkin latte that I like (they do a pumpkin puree sauce, its delicious).

Lately I have been fully embracing pumpkin as a color. Fall is always filled with darker bright colors for me, if that makes sense. I love jewel tones, mustard yellows, and now pumpkin, and burnt oranges. I found this perfect pumpkin colored sweater at Moorea Seal a few weeks back, and have been loving it! Its perfect for layering, which is so necessary in a Seattle Fall. I can wear it to the office, and that in itself for me is amazing. I have a really hard time with business casual clothing, so anything that can double as casual, and work appropriate is an automatic winner in my book. I love the little pointelle detailing on it, it adds interest without being overwhelming. Long story short, I am a huge fan. I love buying from Moorea Seal, most of the items in the store benefit a variety of charities, and I love that my shopping habit is able to benefit a good cause.

I paired this sweater with a floral chambray button up, black skinny jeans, and my favorite leopard print flats (they show off my tattoo, therefore I love them). I love that the warm tones sort of clash with the blue of the chambray in a way that works. It ended up being a perfect, simple little outfit. Not too warm, and not too cold, just like a Seattle Fall.

In this look: My sweater is by mo:vint New York bought at Moorea Seal, floral chambray and skinny jeans are from Gap, leopard print flats are from Target, hat is from Forever 21, purse is Dooney and Bourke

    1. Right? Most overrated flavor ever. I think pumpkin spice lattes taste like soap…ew.

Also, thank you! I love that sweater, it goes with almost everything!

    1. Aww, thank you! Its such a great color, it really goes with almost everything!

If you’re interested in it, I linked straight to it in the “in this look” at the end of the post! (this post isn’t sponsored, I just like spreading sweater love!)

  1. I’m loving the mustard and rust colors too this fall! They really go with the season. 🙂 I only like pumpkin spice and flavor in baked goods, not drinks.
